How we work together

At Hampton & Co., we bring a wealth of purpose to your personal universe through an approach that is disciplined, structured and thorough. To ensure that our services remain relevant to you over the course of our relationship, we incorporate the required levels of customization and flexibility into our advisory and planning process. As a result, we are able to guide the growth and manage the change that will invariably occur in your personal universe over time.


How the process begins

We begin with a comprehensive initial personal assessment conducted by one of Hampton’s senior wealth management partners. The initial assessment employs a comprehensive checklist to determine the following:

Your startup time commitment

The initial assessment and structural setup phase provides the critical foundation for the services we provide. Clients should be prepared to devote a significant amount to time to this stage. We typically advise our clients to plan for several meetings over the course of 2-3 months.

The frequency of ongoing meetings

Initial meeting frequency is dictated by the needs of the mandate, along with critical priorities determined during the assessment and planning process. Subsequently, meeting frequency will be geared to your requirements. In most cases, we conduct face-to-face meetings once every quarter. However, monthly or even weekly meetings will be arranged if warranted by ongoing or unique circumstances.

How we work with your existing service providers

Coordination with existing advisors and other service providers can occur in your presence or absence, depending on specific needs and your personal preferences. We discuss and agree to an appropriate level of interaction with your existing advisor/service provider network. Additionally, you will receive ongoing reports on all discussions that take place between Hampton & Co. and your other advisors.

How we report

During the initial setup phase, written progress reports are made available on a monthly or quarterly basis. Progress reports are discussed and action items fine-tuned at regular client meetings. Once the setup phase is complete, quarterly and annual reports are the norm. At these key intervals, we provide detailed, fully customized reports covering all of your financial and other assets right across the full spectrum of custodians utilized.

A Hampton report will typically include an aggregation of your investments, cash accounts and loans with different managers and financial institutions, along with an aggregated net worth statement. To bring additional clarity to your financial affairs, we include a detailed performance analysis of all asset classes and managers, valuations of your non-financial assets, and an aggregation of all fees paid to financial institutions and managers.
